Kolcraft Contours Options 3 Wheeler in Ruby Review
great buy!!
I chose this stroller after reading positive reviews at epinions.com and I couldn't be happer with my purchase, this stroller is high quality and worth the price... and it's taller than the average stroller. I'm 5'10 and most strollers feel a little short for me.. but this is so comfortable for me to push.
Great stroller but too bulky & heavy
I have been using this stroller with my 17 month old from the day she was born. The car seat attachment made it very easy to use my Grace Safe Seat. The car seat straps in. The seat that the stroller came with was also very is to install. It just snaps in but is very secure. The seat can be faced forward or facing you and it's very easy to change positions. Lots of storage space in the basket underneath. I've used it on bumpy sidewalks and gravel trails for over a year. Tires are rugged yet very quiet. It doesn't have that plastic sound that other strollers have when you push it. So far, it has held up very well. Here are my complaints:
WEIGHT: The stroller is heavier than I was expecting. Don't even try lifting it for a few months if you've had a c-section.
EASE OF FOLDING: To fold the stroller, you have to squeeze these two triggers to fold the handle and push down. For me, I always have a hard time getting the triggers to squeeze at the same time to fold the thing. I keep having to squeeze one at a time.
BULKY: It also takes up a lot of space. I used to have a 2002 Nissan Altima and the stroller took up the majority of the trunk space. We've since gotten a GMC Acadia with the 3rd row seats. This will fits just fine as long as the 3rd row is folded down. It's a tight fit with the 3rd row up.
3 WHEELS VS 4: I wish I had gotten the 4 wheels instead of the 3 wheel. There are times when it felt like the stroller would topple if I didn't watch it on turns. Four wheels would have been more stable.
SIZE OF SEAT: My 17-month old is 31 inches tall and her head is already touching the top of the seat. I'm expecting my 2nd baby and was thinking about getting the Tandem version of this stroller but there's no way my 17-month old will fit by the time the baby is born which is only a few months away.
Best stroller ever!
My son loves this stroller. We've had him in it since day one. I like that it comes with the carseat attatchment, we have a graco safeseat, and it's so easy to just set the carrier in it when he's asleep...there is a strap you put over the carrier and you're ready to go. I love the way the seat faces both directions. This was a selling point for me. I can change the direction he's facing while he's sitting in it! It rolls very smoothly.
I found out that to fold it up the seat has to be facing out. We have a 05 Civic and this stroller takes up half of our trunk. This is a little frustrating, but it's worth it to have a roomy stroller for him, and a place for me to store my shopping bags, purse, and diaper bag. The basket on the bottom is very large...we can fit his diaper bag, my purse, a blanket, and a few shopping bags in it.
We have the stroller that has the cup holder/tray across his lap. I love this option. I put his juice in the cup holder and a few puffs on the tray and he is snacking down the mall.
The recline options are great. When he was younger I would recline the seat all the way for him to sleep and it was great...a bed on wheels. I like to keep the seat all the way up now because when it is his canopy will cover the entire area to the tray. A great option for public places during flu season.
This stroller is heavy, but it's also heavy duty. It's worth the weight.
I highly recommend this stroller...I'm a first time mom and I researched forever. Like I mentioned before, the selling point for me was that the seat faces both ways, but I have been soooooooo pleased with this stroller.
We did get an umbrella stroller to put in the other car so we wouldn't have to switch back and forth.
